PLEASE NOTE: This lot was sold in an online benefit auction where all proceeds went to the Whyte Museum in Banff, Alberta and there was no Buyer's Premium.; Self-taught, Banff resident Michael Corner has been painting for eight years and recently had a show of his work at the Whyte Museum. From the artist: ‘This piece is painted [pastel] en plein air on the grounds of the Whyte Museum. Living in Banff for many years gives me ample opportunities to paint/draw the beautiful landscape in 'my backyard' just as Catharine and Peter Whyte experienced years ago.’
